Dreamers and Doers

2 words- Owner’s Locker                                                                          Dream On

From the beginning-We first joined Disney Vacation Club (DVC) in 1999,and as we traveled yearly to our home away from home, we would lug lots of the same stuff  year after year; rain ponchos, coffee grinder, cork screw, throw blankets, in addition to all our regular vacation gear of clothing and sundries.  Brian and I discussed (here is the dreamer part), wouldn’t it be nice to just leave our stuff in Florida every year in a storage locker of some sort so we would not have to bring it all the time, and maybe there would be other DVC owners who would like to do the same thing.

Fast forward a few years-(here is the doer part) While on the DISBoards, I read a post about a new company called “Owner’s Locker” who will deliver a large storage container to your hotel.  You load it up with your stuff.  They take it back to their climate controlled warehouse, and every time you visit DVC, they will deliver your stuff back to you.  WOW!  Why didn’t I think of that?  Oh wait, I did.

Just to clarify, I’m not begrudging Owner’s Locker or claiming they stole my idea.  They had a dream and they acted on it, and this year, Owner’s Locker now has DVC as their official sponsor.

In 2010, we signed up for our own “Owner’s Locker”, stuffed it full of our things, and this year we will enjoy traveling to Florida with only 2 small carry-ons.  This is a great company, awesome service, and I wish them continued success.

Ever have an idea that you wish you acted on but never did?
