Flower & Garden Festival

My countdown to my next trip to Disney World has magically changed to 112!  How did this happen, you ask? It was magic!  Not to bore anyone with the details, but we are taking a quick trip for the Epcot Flower & Garden Festival. I’m excited to be going again so soon and to have an opportunity for more photographs and blogging topics.

From the Disney World website:

Excitement is in bloom at Epcot theme park this spring with the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival presented by HGTV!

Watch Disney spring to life with colorful flowers and gardens, dazzling Disney character topiaries, live music and fascinating programs. Held March 7, 2012 through May 20, 2012, this special event beckons you to be inspired by nature at its finest.

Designer Presentations

See how green your thumb can be as some of the nation’s top designers help you plan everything from planting your first garden to enhancing your home’s curb appeal. With expert advice from HGTV stars and Epcot gardening experts, you’re sure to be inspired!

You’ll find more than 100 topiaries throughout Epcot theme park—including more than 75 Disney character topiaries! Highlights include character topiaries representing Buzz, Woody and Lotso from the Disney•Pixar film Toy Story 3, as well as Lightning McQueen and Mater from the Disney•Pixar film Cars 2.

Flower Power Concert Series

Enjoy unforgettable live music from the 1960s and 1970s during the Flower Power Concert Series. You’ll find a different artist every weekend during the festival atAmerica Gardens Theatre. Show times are Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 5:15 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m.

Other than the Food & Wine Festival, this is my second favorite time of year to visit.  Epcot is beautiful and so is the weather; warm, but not hot.  Crowds are fairly low as the kids are not out of school and summer vacation has yet to start.  Also, there is a Flower Power Concert series and the line-up is much better than last year’s Food & Wine; Paul Revere, Three Dog Night, ELO, Guess Who, Herman’s Hermits and Davy Jones, to name a few.

Watch for me.  I’ll be one of those crazy old ladies who forgot how to dance.

  1. Yay for you! We saw Peter Noone last year and he was really fun. Are you a big gardener?
